Accessed a glass with a Coravin. This wine is drinking well. Still a lot of fruit (red/black mix), although the acids and tannins are stronger -- in good superTuscan style. Some herbaceous notes, as one reviewer mentioned. Can be drunk by itself but better with red meat. This bottle, which has been at 55 degrees for the last 8 years, still has at least a couple of years of prime drinking.
I thoroughly enjoyed this wine. I don't understand the reviews on this wine. Once opened this was a very harsh and tannic wine. After a 3 hour decant this wine was soft and perfectly balanced. Long finish with nose of strawberries and blackberries. Taste had a hint of sweetness more like a California cab. Very dark red color.
