Sweet Grenache, warm cherry fruit, Christmas Spices. Holding up well given the warm vintage, the fruit is still vibrant. Time to drink up, no reason to hold any further and make sure to drink appropriately chilled.

Somewhat tired and pruny; not gone at all, just lacking freshness and comes out as a very typical 2003 with to much heat. Still, some people will love the Christmas-like sweetness here, I do not.

Cork came out well and despite a lot of sediment the bottle tasted great. Turbid and cloudy the wine was clearly aged however it still retained the fruit although the tannin and acidity were light. Was pleased that this bottle was drinkable and quite delicious.

Thanksgiving Weekend (Lancaster, PA): A bit roasted nose, fig paste, baked plums, soot, anise cookie. Full and chewy, still plenty of fruit (fig, roasted plums, black currant) on a frame of dusty tannins. Low acid, of course, but still very pleasant on the palate. Secondary notes of anise, leather, smoke and campfire add complexity. Drinking very well, could age further, but if I had a few more bottles, I’d taste one a year.

Needs an hour plus to open. Starts brown and then turns a cloudy claret. Still fruity, long legs, sustained finish that has some tar on it. It's still a pleasure to drink.
