Well balanced. Dusty smooth tannins, medium acidity. Cassis, dried berry fruit, cedar. Bitterness creeping into the fruit profile (not sweet fruited palate but still a bit of the sweet fruit left over). Very tasty.

Leoville Barton 2007 - Classic St Julien from a good vintage which is well established in its drinking window. Cedar tones compliment typical blackcurrant and cassis flavours with well balanced tannins and structure. Mr Stebbing Court Lunch

Common hall 2007 Leoville Barton – surprising variability in bottles here as well as in the white. My third top up was absolutely stunning with a deep core of fruit and softer tannins. Most glasses though did not have the concentration of fruit and the tannins were drying. Needs drinking up. Won’t improve.Johnny Nichols

(Château Léoville Barton) Medium dark red violet color; lovely, poised, ripe plum, herbaceous nose; tight, tart cassis, herbaceous palate with sweet tannins; medium-plus finish 91+ pts. (the tightest of the 6 2007s we tried at this tasting)
