From Cathy's first year of her own label. This bottle was the most mild bottle of the night. It was accessible but subtle. There were many spice notes and good complexities but it was not good with foods because it was easily overpowered

Tasted this blind against another cabernet, also tasted blind. I guessed the latter to be an '88 Oakville cab, and it was unveiled to be the '87 Sequoia Grove Estate (Oaklville). The Corison smelled and tasted like a really well-evolved and maintained '94, if not younger. Striking floral-cassis-vanilla perfume, silky palate. Not having been a fan of the Corisons lately (post 1994) I'm now thinking I should open those '99's I've been avoiding.

Nose of dried cherry, cedar and roses. Earth, hint of cherry, mint and almost a salt like thing on the palate. Ends with a 25 second finish.

We were too eager and pop-and-poured, in spite of it's age, this wine really needed some time in the decanter
