  • The 1979 Lafon Meursault Charmes is amazingly fresh and vibrant, not just for its age (and in fact this wine is simply aging correctly) but for Charmes too. A beautiful and classic bouquet of buttered apples, green pear, honeysuckle, cornmeal and hints of toasted hazelnut wafts from the glass, followed by a palate impression of great detail and precision, with loads of energy and mouthwateringly juicy flavors and a crisp, clean finish. Excellent stuff.
