Very dark purple color. Classic "zinny" nose - berries, spice and ripe fruit. On the palate, spice and berries, mixed with some minerality - very pleasant. Right out of the bottle, the finish was a little harsh and clipped. With air and a little warming up, the finish opened up nicely - still plenty of backbone on this - open, ripe fruit, pepper, spice and nicely structured tannins. Still a little of the harshness when first opened, but most of it faded away. After a few hours, simply delicious zinfandel. Score rose throughout the night - ended at 91 points. Great effort for the vintage!
