Wow, this was a surprise! I expected it to be DOA. Instead it was still quite vibrant with a wonderfully integrated roasted nut and apple quality. Nice verve and intensity with a lip smacking finish. This was drained within 15 min of opening. Unexpected pleasure after 27 years, wow!

Probably well past its prime, but still fun to try such an old bottle. Very light bubbles, lots of apple, some baked dough but not near as much as I was hoping for. Not much acidity or crispness left, but smooth and pleasant.

Roasted nuts (almonds) aromas with just a bit of apple fruit. Fruit seemed subdued, perhaps the champagne was on its last legs or never had them to begin with. I served with cheese -- perhaps it would have been better with food where the tartness of the cheese wouldn’t have masked the fruit as much.
