Senndoff (Adrian's Apartment - Chicago, IL): Noel's final vintage! I've loved 2006 in the Northern Rhone and I think there's a lot to like with this one. It's very primary, still, but there's some good potential underneath. Fighting an uphill battle in a way with the vine age, but I found this more complex and deep than the 2005 that we opened alongside. More earthy, more meaty, more of what I want from Cornas.

Senn-d off: The last of a master's works. This shows much brighter than the 2005, with almost a red tone on the nose, although the animale note is still present. Slightly minty, even. The palate is sweeter, richer, and more full than the 2005. This definitely shows more towards the red side of things, with lovely fresh acidity. Perhaps this isn't as feral and wild as the others I've had, but damn, this is convincing and tasty.

This was an utterly beautiful wine. Drinking young, but well. Surprisingly open. Nice bouquet, waves upon waves of flavor. Persimmon, olive, bacon fat, smoke, loads of sweet red and blue fruit. Fresh, and long. Lots of charm here. A joy to drink. 1st bottle of a case, this will be a fun one to follow over the years.

Hanging out at Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage): Just a baby, but the fruit is concentrated and pure with a peppery underbelly that I would guess materializes into the exotic beasts that these wines typically become. Won't touch mine for a long time - thinking 2024-2030.

Youngest wine in a vertical of Verset. Comparatively light but elegant. Good acidity. None of the rusticity commonly associated with young Cornas.
