At Home Dinner. This is a delicious bottle of Dom with considerable richness and grip rather than sheer elegance. There is a lovely mouthful of fruit well balanced by brioche and nuts leading into a fine finish where there was a real sense of grape tannin and matiere rather than acidity.

Great nose, very rich. After that, this richness fills your mouth with loads of sensations. Rather dark, but very precise. It lasts and lasts. Has reached its prime drinking window. An appropriate compensation for a rather weak meeting with a DP 2002 I had some weeks ago.

At restaurant in Tokyo. Reductive in style and higher dosage....though nicely judged and on the right side of sweet. Goes down so easily as opening wine that it does not get the deserved attention. A nice drop and an OK price for quality if you can forget they supply millions in the market every year.

Oysters typical of mature Dom nose. Some lemon and burnt sugar. Light white flowers and acacia honey, lots of butter, fried butter with hazelnuts. Somewhat sweet, drinks like a puligny with bubbles. This wine, from a not so great vintage is ready to drink. Also the color is already intense yellow. I would not hold on to it for much longer.
