  • If one could bottle Spain, this would be it. Black cherry and dried fig, paraffin Bellota ham like notes, potting soil, some herbal and jasmine potpourri, old church pew leather and mahogany base tones, distant woodsmoke. Silky tannins, green olive brine minerality, age rounded acidity and a medium to long finish with an element of back palate mystery. Bright and present with good aromatic projection.

  • Decanted, popped and poured. Beautiful crisp and structured dark cherry infused wine. Has that classic silky texture that these wines develop with age. This is now fairly mature but its showing tangy and juicy cherry fruit along with a slightly barnyardy, earthy note that is very seductive. Long finish. Excellent/Outstanding. My favourite Rioja producer by some margin.
