004553/12406. Root day, ~4cm fill, very transparent under light. Year of the Tiger special! Cork fell in without Durand, presumably the bottle was met with unexpected shake too. Musty, earthy but with penetrating sweetness. Soy sauce, black tea, some spice and stem in the background; classic DRC and Flagey flavors. Someone mentioned "pickled radish" on the surface (but the wine is for sure not faulty). Light and very enjoyable actually. In a weak vintage as this the terroir and wine-making really shine through. 92

Leroy bottling. Brownish with lighter rim. On the nose, Sois bois and olive. Spices. Developed nose. Not unpleasant. Mouth watering acid. Remnants of blue fruit and strawberry. lots of stuffing. Excellent length of finish. Most moreish wine of the night vs a hallowed company of RSV, La Tache, RC. But perhaps not what one looks for in awesome Burg.

San Francisco MONSTER Offline - 31 Notes, Pictures & Review of the Evening: I have read about the 1974 La Tache and how individuals here have had great bottles including Plotnicky. I really looked forward to this. Alas, it was tired tonight... Very light see right through it. Nose is slightly reserved with notes of light sour cherry, cedar plank. It's seen better days.
