Last bottle of a case we bought more than 20 years ago, and what a delight it was. A fully mature Oregon pinot, with much fruit still left, but also great finesse, typical Willamette barnyard on the nose and a finish that lasts. Sorry we didn't wait with all the bottles, because this one was truly memorable. When you carefully age a top Oregon pinot from a decent year, you get a wine that can hold its own with the better stuff in Burgundy.

Despite a drinking window that closed in 2004 this wine is alive and well. This is my last of six, purchased upon release and stored at 55-59 in my cellar. Cork and color are fine. I wish there were six more in the cellar.

Medium red color, strong mustiness overlaying mixed berry aromas, plenty of earthy and herbal berry fruit, tannins integrated, slight acidity, smooth finish. The initial mustiness was almost gone after 3 hours when we finished the bottle. Quite a nice burgundy style wine. If we had another bottle I would decant it for 2-4 hours before dinner.

Took about an hour to lose the funk but it was Europe in a glass after that. Extremely Burgundian in character. Supple palate, mild tannins, medium acid.
