For a horrible vintage, the wine showed extremely well. Leather, funk, cedarwood, incense and bramble fruit. Palate was soft and expressive. Although it was not complex, it was immensely pleasurable with lifted acidity. A rather feminine expression of La Mouline. It just kept developing more fruit and depth in the glass with nice secondary note.

An evening with wine geeks (@Private location, Frankfurt): Glass: Gabriel Gold Deep, tawny color. Beautiful, clean typical Mouline nose with leather, smoke, blood and red fruit. Quite complex. Wonderful, perfectly integrated acidity, nice extract sweetness, perfectly balanced. All components blended nicely together. Red fruit, good mineral core. Aged in dignity. Great bottle for this off-vintage. 92-93

Dark spice, fruit thins across the midpalate and finish, black pepper. After 1.5 hours eventually outlasted the '82 Mouline. Fading but with enough to offer that good bottles still merit attention. 90-91

Great aromatic start with forest floor, mature black cherry, earth, cigar box, black pepper aromas. Slightly less interesting on plate but still nice combination of fruit and earth with moderate length and intensity.

nice bottle, soft, elegant, less power than the hermitage la Chapelle served side by side.
