Not a great fill (mid to top shoulder), and it showed. There is some power underneath, but some clear maderization. This bottle a C, but there are better out there

Mid-shoulder fill and lifted cork so was always a gamble. Cork mouldy and disintegrating. Wine oxidised and tawny in colour with musty nose so maybe corked too. Bit like a dry sherry with the slightest hint of what might have been - some fineness and length but no character - but rather less palatable. Drank it but it took some willpower, others refused!

Great fill level, good cork.low neck, this wine is gorgeous, elegant, everything you'd want from an aged Bordeaux. The wine is still vibrant, showing dried fruit, earthy, tobacco, minerals and graphite. Completely integrated now and just showing so well. It was better than a similar condition Chateau Lafite also served tonight thought both showed very well. The LB persistence lingered on like a great burgundy.

From half with a low-mid shoulder fill, this still was able to pull together a Lynch-like profile with a bit of cassis, mint, and lavender. But it's very watered down, of course, with the rains that swelled the crop right before picking. This also has the stigmata of a low fill with a somewhat dirty, decaying quality to it. High fill bottles from larger formats put together a pretty good performance for a 64 Medoc, but there's no sense chasing them. Of course, Latour picked before the rain and the vintage is very nice in Pessac and the right bank.

Nice bouquet & palate (within the first 5-10 mins). This faded after ~15mins in the glass. Nice for what it was. Detail notes may yet follow...
