  • This pours light garnet in the glass. Bricking is medium plus. The nose is medium intensity and high complexity showing a very classic and old school bordeaux profile. Aromas are of old sweet cedar, mushroom, iron, tobacco, dried red currants, green bell pepper, celery, dried cherry, and dried violets. The palate enters on dried currant with low tannin and medium plus, almost high acid. The acid profile on the finish turns quite tart, herbal, and a tad bitter which holds this back a little. All in all we have lovely stern old school Bordeaux. Gorgeous aromatic profile that has really held up well after 50+ years. The palate is a bit of a let down with the herbal, bitter and tart aspect dominating the finish. Definitely a wine that demands food.

  • During a "Covid Stuck in Singapore" 14.July French National day lunch. An experimental bottle as announced by the person who shared it. Cloudy color leaving us guessing what was to come. Acidic and leafy in style, a different era of interpretation of what phenolic maturity is but not unpleasant, make sure there is fatty food around.

  • Fully mature but holding its fruit well. Rosehip syrup, lighting but good intensity. Typical of the vintage. Minor scale but big flavour.

  • Opened to replace a corked bottle. Much better. Nice complex nose, rose hip syrup, touch of game, nice. Lightish wine but opened up well. Meaty red fruits. Very good.
