A very modern Barolo. Ripe with strong tannic backbone despite its relative maturity. Firmly red fruited. What this wine lacks in complexity is makes up for in stylishness.

Barolo Tasting (Restaurant Krietsch, Schwäbisch Gmünd): Wines tasted blind. Opened a few hours before the tasting. Glass: WMF red Wine Clear, deep ruby color. Fine, classic Barolo nose with some sweet red fruit and rose petals. On the palate certainly more powerful than the Burlotto. Lots of meat on the bone, creamy, dense and deep. Beautiful fruit. Very good balance. Youthful. Very long and fruity finish. Worthy opponent to the Burlotto in this flight. 93-94

Bricking at the edges. Nice nose of tobacco, herbs, maple, and under brush. Soft and seductive, better after a decant, does have supportive tartness for the black cherry, savory, unlit cigar and pleasant earthiness. Excellent with pasta fagioli with sausage.

Modern oaky impression on the nose. Rich and cakey. Nice enough but not very barolo.
Nice balance on the palate but muted by oak.
