Crimson, brownish rim. Still a good wine. Mushroom, faint fruit. Balanced but with little expression. Drunk with 1986 L‘ Arrosee which was by far more expressive and fruit driven.

Decanted. Light sediment. Crimson in color. Initial whiff of musty cave which dissipated within 20 minutes. Nose of stewed fruit and plums, earth, and minerals. Thick and round, earthy, flavors of prune and cloves. Medium-long finish. Definitely at its peak or perhaps just a bit past. Drink up.

According to most recommendations, we were a few years too late drinking the 1987 vintage in 2019. After decanting and leaving it breath for about 40 mins in the glasses, we got to saviour an extremely balanced, smooth wine. Wild berries without their sweetness, leather, maybe a hint of oak. Loved it. If you still have bottles left, I wouldn't wait any longer.

This has become a bit tired. Mushroom, blueberry, tobacco all present in a light package.
