First of case of 6 purchased en primeur following howard ripley tasting. Was singing and dancing straight from the bottle. Lovely gevrey fruit and sweetness backed up with some weight and a decent finish. Exactly what you want from a village burgundy. Remaining 1/3 rd of bottle wasn't any better on day 2 so don't think there will be much benefit in waiting.
I liked this more than the 09 gc vv. Although the nose was not as floral and flower as the 09, the palate had more weight and intensity. It was a more musculine wine than the 09. On the nose, it had purple flowers, red fruits, blue fruits and cedar wood. The palate was round with clean fruit in layers. It had a better balance as 09 was more on the ripe side. It is drinking very well now.
This came from an auction case that had a China import label on it. Figured better check out a bottle to make sure it was well handled. Drank just like my local retail bottles. Big acidity, big cherry fruit, very good indeed.
I have to stop drinking this stuff. Pure lifted red fruits with a touch of earth. Palate is again red fruited just mid weight, lovely long palate with perfect freshness. Already decent length. Just a perfect burg
