Almost exact notes to previous tasting 4/11/14; drank over a longer period, extended airtime knocked down some of the exuberant fruitiness and bring out more structure, no oak, like the roasted camphor notes, very slate driven; should do well with some mid term cellaring.
(Spanish Tasting at Vino, Hollywood, Florida). This wine, a blend of 70% Granache and 30% Carinena, proves that there are excellent values to found for under $20, even from popular wine regions, such as Priorat. It has a very deep, ruby red color, with a nose of florals, dark fruit, and ripe red berries. This blend tastes of currants, raspberries, strawberries, licorice, and oak. It has ripe fruit, stone like minerality, and crisp acidity. It also has a very smooth and silky mouthfeel. The wine is medium bodied, with a moderate finish and grippy tannins.
