shared with pat at selkirk manor. i love this wine. it has far outlived even the expectations of the proprietor. it still drinks beautifully. no decline since last tasted in 2010. very bordeaux like. it serves well to remember the enjoyment to be had when tasting a classically styled wine that is intended to be soft but luscious. as per previous notes, i particularly enjoy a wine that offers vinosity. (my definition-evidence that the grapes were fermented). i will be hunting down more recent vintages now that these are all gone.

this is great wine. it has continued to evolve since last tasting. it is more open and accessible without having to wait for aeration. yet, it does not deteriorate in the glass. i particularly enjoy a wine made in this style that offers vinosity (evidence of fermented grapes), in addition to primary fruit and wood. a ringer for bordeaux. equal to other california cabs at twice the price.

this wine continues to be a charmer. current impressions are consistent with notes for the bottle that we tasted last year. the wine has dominant notes of blackberry and raspberry along with generous vinosity. the wine builds in the glass, requiring 30 minute of air to show its full personality. this, together with the fact that the wine has remained in a relatively steady state for the past year indicates that it still has a long life ahead of it.

we recently met gary wooten (owner/winemaker) in boca. he suggested that this wine would be ready to go now.
this bottle was a charmer. good color, although a little transparent. beautiful nose, very much reminiscent of bordeaux. puts one in the mood for romance. this wine seems to be more about grape selection and vinification technique than terroir. well done! i am adding one year to longevity since i believe it will hold up and there are other things in the cue.
