  • A nice, slightly more than serviceable Barbera d'Asti, but it shows the softness of the vintage, and can only muster so much. Typical color, with aromatics of red and blue fruits, soil and some red floral, but nothing is complex, and after 2 hours open, no sign that more is coming. Crivelli acidity and balance, which is always a pleasure, but nature only provided so much to work with here. Notwithstanding its youth, the wine is completely approachable on pop and pour; if 2011s are still in the marketplace, pick those up before/instead of this 2013. 14,0% abv.
