I remember loving this 3 or 4 years ago. Shoulda drunk them up then. Faintly plummy nose. Plums, cherries, licorice on the palate. Fine tannins, sour acidity, bit out of balance. Finishes moderately long with dusty spice notes. Well past prime and barely speaks of Syrah anymore.

Right on the edge for me of enjoyable. I would decant despite age. Olive and ash, bitterness. This is why I dropped off Copain list, so many almosts and near misses. Served with herb toasted rack of pork from Bryan Flannery. Purchased from mailing list, properly stored.

Full bodied, modern and rustic styling. Brief note: charcoal and any type of carbonization you can think of, with dark berries, anise, and soil. Almost over the top with charred volcanics, leaving me wanting for a little more acidic lift. By 2025.

Just a beautiful wine. Time has served this wine well. Lovely nose of plums and dark cherries. Vibrant fruit. Blueberries, currants, roasted meat, a hint of anise. Still evident but polished tannins that may soften with a few more years. Great acidity that highlights the fruit across the palate. Long, subtle finish. Just a brilliant wine with years ahead of it.
