Off aromas of vinegar, artichoke, celery. Softened over time and picked up hints of tobacco. Once you get throught the off aromas, the wine isn't that bad. Pepper, cherries, spice in the mouth. Probably past its prime.

I've like a lot of wines from Merryvale, but this was an exception. Between the pepper (Syrah), the acidity, and the alcohol (14.5%), you'd have to be a fire-eater to really enjoy this one.
