Disgorged in 2012 I think, based on purchase date. Lovely nose; brioche, citrus, green apple. Fine mousse, with leaner lemon and green apple fruit followed by a backbone of excellent acidity. Fresh, clean, and lively.
From 75cl, v. good layered champagne cork, same batch as my previous TNs. Superbly aromatic, apple-dominated palate, gentle but persistent bubbles, very long, tingling apple-acidic finish. My previous bottle must have been faulty (or my palate was shot on 31.12.2014, which is, I admit, a possibility) as the dosage seems perfectly in balance here. 91P

(NV Vilmart & Cie "Cuvée Grand Cellier" Brut) ($79.00) 50% ’08, and 25% each ’07-’06. 70%PN/30%CH. Disgorged 4/10. The wine has always been excellent, but it used to be more starched and not entirely knit, and now it’s silkier. This is certainly among the very best of the last fifteen years, with the clinging flower of ’08 and the warm, honeyed ’06 dancing in graceful counterpoint. Mirabelles and apple sauce against lavender and wisteria, a little more springy than usual, with a refined, incense-y finish.
