Re-corked in 2022 and in very good form. Some white mushroom development along with pure white peach and lavender aromas. It is gently tropical. The palate is rich and layered and cut by Corton's steely line. Each sip unveils something else interesting and length is excellent. Wonderful aged white Burg.

Four bottles poured as an aperitif on the terrace @ Ch Ducru-Beaucaillou prior to a lunch in the dining room for 22 of us fortunate souls. Pronounced yet elegant nose ripe and dried stone fruit, fruit blossoms, hazelnut, flinty matchstick, honeyed butter cookies. The empty bowl later was intoxicating. Medium plus body. Broad palate of barely sweet white peach, preserved lemon, nut brittle, buttered brioche, acidity just below the surface. So well-balanced, long long finish. Went well with grilled prawns, fresh gougeres and house made pate. What a treat. Virtually flawless.

Purchased recently, the cork is branded 2022, showing it was recently checked and recorked in the winery. Developed golden colour. Developed flavours, though not overly rich. Quite round and balanced. Good length. Probably drinking at its peak. I imagine it would have been austere and unapproachable in its use, as borne out by comments from some of the pundits, such as Burghound. I purchased it as a not inexpensive curio. I'm glad I did.

Good when the bottle was open but disappeared quite quickly. A bit passed away.

good freshness still, particularly sweet and sherried on palate showing some of its age.
