Popped and poured. Deep ruby/garnet. Incredible nose, so complex and nuanced...red fruits, blue fruits, fresh mint, fresh oregano, forest floor/autumnal vegetation, violet, red bean paste, anise, etc. So much going on. Medium-plus body. A true "wow" palate, this pretty much epitomizes deliciousness...everything you want from Napa Cabernet. Endless close. While the tannins are still suggesting of a very optimistic future, this might be best to drink now and over the next 3-5 years while the fireworks are still exploding.
Quick comment: This might be the best Cabernet TRB has made. I say this as someone who has tasted many other vintages and cuvées of R-M, not to mention Schrader.
Voluptous wine after an 2 hours of air. Firm tannins, Somewhat fruit forward after the first glass. Very approachable now, I definitely am quite pleased with this one, actually 2008 cabernets as a whole. Drinking well, 93+
Decanted 90 minutes, consumed over the next 2+ hours. Pure, prototypical California Cabernet. Cassis, blackberry, cocoa, and sandal wood. Fairly ripe pure fruit, tannins are pleasant but a bit chewy but definitely a crowd pleaser. I'll wait 2 or 3 more years before coming back.
