From 2003 the heat wave year. No ullage and cork in great shape. Deep garnet color in glass with obvious browning. Has a tarry, "burnt" quality to it due to heat drying out the grapes. Good fruit and lots of lip smacking tannin. Chewy even. Lots of sediment. Drink up!

Delicate berry and dried herb flavors are supported by dusty tannins and lively acidity. The fruit on this one is fading, but what's there is still quite lovely. The last of my 2003 Beaujolais.

Still very good, aging well. Nose has cherry fruit, almost candied. Some vanilla from the oak. Palate is very similar, with good tannins. Kind of like cherry coke for adults, but in a good way. Great example of what the Gamay grape can do.

Ripe, with some stewed fruit and a bit of varnish, but very concentrated and a long finish with plenty of tannin still present. Not the best food wine, and more like an after dinner wine, but if you were in the mood for an Amarone or modern style CDP this would work for the price paid. B+

Varnish overrides all the good things in this wine for me, but there are some who enjoyed it. Still showing some tannin and fruit, but I think if it as an overcooked CDR or Amarone and have a hard time drinking it with food. B+
