  {Purchased some years ago, 2nd bottle of 3, sound cork} Lovely flavor set but the nose was relatively muted and timid. Marginally disappointing as expected (or hoped for) more fireworks in the nose, since this is Volnay! Rose petal secondary flavors, holding up well but with average depth and length. A hit with The Friends who made seafood paella for dinner, and my wife, but not me...

  I've had 36 bottles of this wine over the past five years and if you are ever looking for a textbook example of what fully mature Santenots is supposed to taste like this is it! Fully resolved yet holding beautifully, we are at the peak. Wine is moving from fully secondary into tertiary but due to the structure of the 1993 vintage there is no rush to drink up. Sensational for a wine that has little following and is extremely affordable. Bravo!!!

  Same btl as rocknroller & JCGuthrie. Well, this is what nicely aged Burgundy taste & smells like. Wishing now I had acquired a couple of these. Loaded with tertiary character. I'd drink this again for sure!
