  Less gas than previous bottle.
  Another big NO to cork-bastards and all the idiots who advocate this evil destruction of wine. Screw caps and crown caps for the win!
  
  Amber.
  The wine was absolutely fantastic with a creamy mouthfeel and mellowing maturity. Bready with a magnificent Chardonnay character. More of a fruity and classical bouquet in the aromas than maturing appley tones, even if there are some.
  
  In the mouth it sits just right! On the plateau, long stiff taste and elegant build. For my palette, it's just the right amount of acid. The complexity lasted throughout the evening.
  
  One point lower than previous btl, and that's because of the poor quality cork, can't be blamed on the wine.

  Firade fredagsmys i 1996 Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs, Californiskt bubbel med magi.
  
  Lade in den i kylskåpet men, fu*k! Naturligtvis började den läcka. Ca 25% hann drippa-droppa... Kylskåpet doftade underbart av parfymstinn Chardonnay. Men, bara att ställa upp flaskan, svära (som vanligt) åt korkjävlar och alla idioter som förfäktar detta onda.
  Skruvkork och kronkapsyler skall det vara!
  
  Vinet var dock helt fantastiskt med krämig bornyr och påbörjad mognad. Färgen var mogen ljus bärnsten, doften mjällt brödig med storartad Chardonnay-karaktär. Mer fruktstuns och klassisk bouquet i doften än mognadstoner. I munnen låg det helt rätt! Begynnande mognad, lång stinn smak och elegant byggd. För min palett är det precis lagom syra. Komplexiteten tillät mig lyckligt smacka med läpparna efter de sista dropparna.
  Saknade det stora glas vin som kylskåpet berövat mig.
  Hustrun drack en hel sparvskänk, log och kvad:
  - Detta vin är mycket bättre än Champagne!
  
  Bara ett hålla med: 97p.

  showing well for its age, better than the past few I've tasted of late,
  only slight discoloration w/ mild lemon, apple & brioche
