Bought just one of these in 2013 and been nurturing it ever since. Last night was it’s night to shine. Shine it did. Filtered and decanted for an hour after cork failed to extract intact. A bit tight during the first glass, but with elegant depth, structure, and mouthfeel. Very clean blue and black fruit flavors still remained and seemed well integrated into the cedar, toasted vanilla, and French oak notes. By the second glass, it’s pent up energy had settled down, producing a genuinely enjoyable experience.
The backbone might have sustained another 5-10 years, but the cork would not have. My advice, if you’re holding this, make it your choice the next good opportunity to do so. Cheers!

Not as good as their late 90s, which is still my all time favorite...this one is hotter, bigger with plum and vanilla
