Still rich purple. A little on the sweet side initially, but mellowed with food. Enjoyed the 2005 more a few months ago...

The bottle was opened two and a half hours prior to dinner and decanted. Dark fruit on the nose. The palate was dark berries, smoked meat, pipe tobacco and cedar which gave the wine a slightly sweet taste on the finish which was moderate to long.

This wine is getting better in bottle. Coravined with a little bricking to the edges. It’s well integrated without a sense of being roasted, in fact, starting to get some tertiary library notes. I say 1-2 years from peak, but it’s really delightfully mature now.
