Warm, sweet aromatics of dark red fruit along with a earthy, pine elements. The wine is delicious, too easy to drink, with dark cherry fruit fading into red cherry, pomegranate, cranberry, and earthy note plus herbs like tarragon and thyme. The wine finishes dry and silky smooth with a medium long finish. Certainly fully mature, may have been better a year ago. Drink up.

Brun did a great job with this wine considering the vintage. It has full ripeness in the nose with dark fruits and even going to dried fruits, but really nice acidity to balance and add freshness. There is some thickness to the tannin, so better with food. A very successful 09 imo.

2009 Cru Beaujolais (Tasted Blind) (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Lighter red than the other wines in this flight. Generous nose with lots of (good) funk (B++). Strange, but good palate (B/B+).
My #2, Group's #5 (37 pts). Tasted blind.

Good quality table wine. Nice QPR. Nothing special but could do a lot worse at this price point.

Blind Tasting 2009 Cru Beaujolais (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Nice, ripe cherry nose. Less fruity palate, tight, slightly tannic, minerally and earthy. Interesting but needs time. (my 4th, group's 5th)
