  • The best zin I've had in the last several years! I've been consistently disappointed with Turley zins recently, too tannic and austere, not the upfront fruit they once had. But this was different. Very dark, completely opaque. Wonderful pronounced red and black raspberry aromas mixed with toasty oak, a bit of prunes, quite complex. The flavors are bright, sweet, very concentrated and mouth-coating, a bit hot but beautifully balanced. Again, flavors of raspberries and plums, just a hint of raisins and prunes. Very long aftertaste, just kept going. Perfectly ready, wouldn't age this any longer for fear of losing what it now has. Pop any remaining corks!

  • There was a unique and special quality to this wine. Rich, fruity and vegetal all at the same time!

  • 15 minutes breathing in glass. Nose of dark red fruit, lavender, slight nose of alcohol. Very smooth, rich fruit balanced with acids and nice slightly tannic finish. Hard a bit of alcoholic hotness (16%) on finish.
on 2nd day, the hotness disappeared but but some of the brightness disappeard too.
The best turley i have had in a while, but the vineyards differences are not easy for me to discern.

  • Reticent but lovely aromas -- raspberry, blackberry, brambles, white pepper, lavender, and wet rock waft from the glass. Silky smooth mouthfeel -- classic Turley velvet. Ever-changing fruit profile of raspberry, rhubarb, blueberry (?), and hard candy, with notes of citrus, nutmeg and baking spice. Lively acidity underlaid by decent tannins. Great structure and balance. Marvelous.
