  The wine is a medium ruby color. The very interesting nose has brambly berries, black pepper, minerals, smoke, vanilla bean, warm baking spices, and a touch of earthiness. This has medium body, fairly solid tannins, and very good acidity. The palate shows tart, spicy, peppery berries with minerals and some earthiness coming in on the back end. The finish is kicked up a couple notches with the crisp acidity accentuating the fruit and spices leaving your mouth watering for another sip. Not a big, bruising style of zin. Very food friendly and one that should last for years in the cellar.

  Settled down since I last had it. Medium ruby purple. Nose of cool black raspberry, with similar, straight ahead flavors. A forward beam of raspberry and bramble, framed by light oak and cocoa on the medium finish. Juicy and easy drinking, concealing its alcohol well. Pleasant.

  14.5% alcohol. Dark black cherry color. Pretty nose of black fruit and spice. Lively in the mouth, showing terrific acidity and a bit more nuance than the Selyem or Carlisle, but also a bit less hedonistic and up-front. Pretty and complete. A really lovely wine. A-
