I humbly apologize for the negative notes I wrote about this wine. It may have been bottle variation, or this wine just might have needed more time, but this, my last bottle, was pretty damned tasty. Dark color, nice "zinny" nose, surprising richness, and a very good finish. There are better zins for less money, but not THAT much less.
@Taste of Texas, great bottle and reasonable price. Rich red fruit, bracing acidity initially but composes quickly. Great with a heavily marbled ribeye and seared button mushrooms. Long finish with blue fruit and brown cooking spice.
This needs serious time to open up but it rewards with many different flavor sand profiles along the way. Solid complexity but just a tad thin. Very expensive for what you're getting, but overall this is a great bottle.
