Purchased three six packs at the Domaine in the mid-90's while barrel tasting the huge 93's. Followed these since then, and as with other 88's-were tough to go ga-ga over for about 20 years, and Lalou's favorite 1er cru in her vast stable! Thankfully open for business now as light ruby colour with minimal peripheral bricking and ripe Chelan cherry nose. Explosive sundried cranberry palate with classic Vosne spices on a long leathery finish. Wow! Best now - 2035

A very brief whiff of bottle funk on the sommelier's tasting pour. Beautiful color with suggestion of bricking. With very little air a rich and concentrated Leroy nose with transparent Vosne spice and dark fruit jump from the glass. Coats every corner of the mouth--a wine of incredible finesse. Lingering finish. Easily could be mistaken for a grand cru if served blind. This bottle was quite a bit more memorable than one opened 4-5 years ago. Drinking beautifully now and should hold for several years.

Showing a truffle and tea leaf essence. Sadly, also a touch of TCA presented itself. Shame.
