  • Fully mature black and red cherry with licorice hints. Good weight with intriguing layers. No further upside.

  • Still togther but past peak, losing power and depth. Body starting to get lean, some fruit is still there but fading. Minimum two hour decant recommended. Overall an enjoyable well made Barolo that's now seen better days, drink up.

  • Sampled at an enoteca in Barolo on 6/15. A stunning, mature Barolo! Great red Burgundy-like bouquet in all the best ways. Incredibly rich and layered mouthfeel. Still showing great acid and structure. Incredible length and range! This wine is squarely in it's drinking window and it I don't think it will improve with further aging. Recommend drinking by 2017.

  • Decanted at 5 pm and drunk from 7-10 pm. Medium dark ruby color, no sign of age. Nose is a little smokey with vanilla, mushroom, blackberry bramble, cherry and tar. Still somewhat tannic. First flavor is sour cherry, then layers of other flavors with an aftertaste that lasts 30 seconds or more. Probably best at about the 3 hour mark after decanting.

  • Had this last night at SPQR and it was outstanding. Initial funk on the nose and even in the initial taste but the sommelier assured us it would blow off and she was right. It evolved over a couple of hours in the decanter, developing lovely dark cherry, licorice and the classic tar qualities, becoming more fragrant as the night went on. My last bottle of this and wish I had several more as this one seems like it has just reached its plateau of excellence. I saw a very negative tasting note on this wine and can only assume it is due to bottle variation.
