Young in color. Raspberries on the nose- still a smell of vitality. Perfectly smooth in the mouth- very polished tannins - quite long and extremely elegant.

Served at an offline at a blind tasting. Quick notes: obvious age from the color and the nose: cedar, flowers, licorice, menthol, eucalyptus. Strong notes of sherry. Became difficult to drink after awhile. Consensus was that it was flawed.

Very interesting wine. Softly structured. Certainly more about the structure than the fruit. Pinot vinosity, carrying red licorice in the mid palate and finish. Many will not like it but I appreciated its quality and how it demonstrated the range of pinot expression. Nice vinosity and acids. Good with food but easily blown out by any sort of strong flavors. Drinking well now.

(Domaine des Comtes Lafon Monthélie 1er Cru Les Duresses) Medium red color with pale pink edges; light, tart strawberry nose with dried mushroom and caramel notes (fades quickly in the glass, getting murkier on the nose); mature tart Burg flavors, mushroom, a little dried out though, and fades quickly in the glass; short-medium finish

Rather nice. Some dessicated cherry notes. Some spice up top. Medium-light in body, but quite deep in flavor.
