  • A post-holiday return to moderation, in terms of both cost and substance. After rich meals and wines, we went with a lighter dinner of salad, a few cheeses, and some delicious Lovejoy Bakery ficelles. The ideal pairing might have been a nice Chablis - as a compromise, we went with this, and were well served.

Pale straw in the glass, with a very nice stony, oystershell and citrus nose. Initially reticent, poured too cold, as this warmed up it took on weight and nuance. In addition to a stony minerality, the wine provided some Mersault-like nuttiness, as well as a full bodied lemony thing that made it difficult to put down a glass. Saving a glass or so for tomorrow, but already recommended. This is good juice for the price.
