Community Tasting Notes (6) Avg Score: 91 points

  • 2nd of 6, opened 80 minutes, perfect cork and level, still on youthful side but beginning to show more complexity than first bottle noted more fully in June 21, signs of extraction but not overly so, indeed almost graceful, generosity developing and fine grip of top vintage, upside, 15+ years. F+ (18).

  • 1st of 6, opened 2 hours, perfect level, cork half travelled - dark, dense ruby, little development on rim; whack of black cherry and damson, some spice, not particularly complex; fullish, ok length and persistence, slightly stewed and undifferentiated, but consistent with nose nice whack of fruit, pushing extraction at expense of grace, energy for upside. F (17.5).....stylistically at Bonnes Mares end of spectrum and certainly not Musigny!

  • No Chambolle or Fuees at all - over extracted and over oaked compared with a Mugnier or even a Jadot version of this. Tastes like a very good Gevrey village and very enjoyable, but not what I had hoped for.

  • Deep red fruit, minerals and a very nice elegance. The palate is clean, fresh and youthful. Tannins are rather outspoken. Not a very interesting effort, but for sure a nice wine.

  • Incredible wine. Popped and poured, but could decant shortly as well. The wine was so perfect and pure. The nose matched the palate just wonderfully, that burgundian pinot funk had a delicacy and precision about it. Color was great with no signs of age anywhere on this wine, but it seemed mature too, no harsh tannins, no angles, just smooth all over.
This was like sucking on a piece of pinot noir candy, not in sweetness, but in terms of the length and intensity. Still tasted an hour after you were done! Just great! Maybe better than I scored it.
Some very fine sediment was thrown, so perhaps a decant for that if you wish. Drinking great now, but there doesn't seem to be a rush either.
