This medium ruby wine drinks well above its pedigree. The nose shows intense aromas of candied red fruit (similar to "Red Vines"), potpourri and rose petals. Light-to-medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, light sweet tannins, well-integrated alcohol (listed as 13%) and red fruit flavors. The middle palate is solid and the medium-length finish is smooth. Definitely village-level or above in any blind red Burgundy 2009 tasting! Drink now-12/17.
Pronouced aromas -- sweet cherries, rich rounded. Structured, sweet and round on the mid palate, rather amazing. Now what is the price? Has some purity. Works at $30 or so. Has all the black fruit of Gevrey that you ever need.
