  • 5/13, decent cork (c25% soaked).
Still quite youthful appearance - medium ruby/garnet with a pale garnet rim. Showing lovely pure fruit and florals on the nose - blueberry, black cherry, violets, touch of meatiness and mineral with time in glass buit still quite primary. Medium/full bodied, lovely pure fruit on initial entry, spice, meaty notes, very fine tannins, complex and long on the mid-palate, with lovely vibrant acids carrying a long, lightly grippy finish. Outstanding wine which can be enjoyed now but which also has plenty left in the tank.

  • Med to dark ruby. Intensely fruity with some of floral aromas
Dark and red cherry on the palate with silky darker fruit dominating suggesting ripeness.
Opens up nicely with good acidity and then very gradually fading to a long and delicious finish. This was much better, more open and expressive than last bottle had S2 years ago. Drank with fried chicken on 60th.

  • My favorite red of the night. Elegant, silky, seamless palate. Couples. Soft tannins. Excellent and drinking at peak imo.

  • Nick's 64 Goodge Street (Mainly) Burg Dinner (64 Goodge St): 4/13, good cork.
This was aromatic, quite youthful still, red and black fruited, quite floral, spide notes. Complex and pure. Medium bodied on the palate, soft tannins, seamless and a touch understated but with plenty of class and complexity, lovely vibrant acids, long harmonious finish. Excellent, touching outstanding, drinking well but no hurry here.

  • Nick's Burgundy evening at 64 Goodge Street: Lovely bright medium red, a youthful appearance still. Smoky nose to start, an intoxicating first whiff with great fruit and some asian spices. It is kind of high-toned, kind of not, it seems to include both fragrant summer fruits and furniture polish as well as a deep well of rich black cherry and blackcurrant, and then to seamlessly move between the two before settling somewhere in the middle which I like a lot. There are sweet tannins on the end. It's lovely at this age, graceful but a bit willful still. Has a long time to go you feel. My red WOTN, and a real treat to be able to try it.

(Clos du Tart Clos du Tart) Medium-plus relatively young colour. The nose has a good blend of red and black fruits - it's rather complex. Luxurious, if oaky mouthfeel - plenty of oak flavour on the finish too, Super balance, fruit and delivery - outstanding, very young wine.

(Domaine du Clos de Tart Clos de Tart) Group's #7 (by a tie-breaker) (my #3) – 32 pts; 0 firsts, 0 seconds, 2 thirds, 2 lasts – Dark cherry color with clear meniscus; gorgeous tart cherry and roses nose that gains a caramel component with time in the glass; solid, youthful, ripe cherry palate with depth and vanilla oak; medium finish 92+ pts.

(Clos du Tart Clos du Tart) Darker cherry. Very lovely high toned nose. Lovely fruit with medium-plus tannins and good acidity. Almost creamy fruit. Another fine effort.
