Chicago Food and Wine Festival Italian tasting. after several hours open, overt/slight nose of ripe red cherries and cola. palate was less giving at the tasting itself, however after several hours of aeration this has smoothed out considerably and is very elegant. bright red cherry fruit and very harmonious (though full unresolved) tannins point to a very bright future for this wine. Concentration unlike any other basic Barbaresco I've ever tried.
A little more elegance and this wine would shine, but a bit muddles on both the nose and hurts what is otherwise quite pretty palate. Doughy. A bit of a burgundy mouth feel until the tannins take over.
