Mid crimson, mid density with tawny rim. Rather subdued on the nose but did open up in the glass to reveal red summer berries and strawberries. The palate somewhat lean perhaps slightly closed although given the vintage I suspect it was more a case of not much being there. Moderate acidity, certainly not out of balance. A welcome freshness to the wine. Again the flavour braodened in the glass and notes of red fuits, a little leather and undergrowth too. A perfectly pleasant wine, just a bit lacking in depth and complexity. A short finish.
