Decanted 2 hours and rebottled. Nice blue and red fruits with a lush mouthfeel and notes of chocolate, tobacco and spice. Medium to full bodied with nice persistence as the wine moves across the palate. Medium plus finish with moderate tannins and a little black tea on the finish. This wine does need some air and will benefit from some cellar time but I was surprised at how approachable this is just now. Very good although a bit expensive.
deep purple that reflects the light beautifully. pure cassis intermixed with red fruits that emerge with time. dark chocolate, rocks, spice, and subtle herbs. polished and velvety in the mouth. penetrates with a satisfying richness. everything is correct proportion. while i've always favored the sluttiness of the GIII, particularly the '08, this demonstrates an element of grace and refinement that trumps every sojourn cab i've had before it. this has to be my favorite cab to date from these guys!
