For about half the party this was the wotn. Has aged and put on weight beautifully. Pretty nose of bright red fruits with just a touch of earthiness. Lot of minerals and darker red fruits on the pallet. Good finish. An incredible bargain when I purchased this for 40.

An excellent example of why the Burgundy region of France is rightly famous for Pinot Noirs that beautifully age into some of the most elegant and tasty wines made. Dark purple but still see through with an inch pour. At 8 years old, the nose is perfumed and the up front sip is wonderfully rounded, integrated, graceful, caressing, and delicious with nothing sour, astringent, heavy, or thin. Glides down the throat with the greatest of ease, finishing with buoyant acidity, gentle tannin, satisfying black cherry, and pure delight.

Pulled the cork about an hour before our main courses arrived but no decant, just a slow-ox in the bottle. Brilliant ruby red in the glass with no visual signs of age or oxidation. Whoa. Seductive aromas of red forest fruits, benzine and kofta (yes...the ground, spiced lamb). Generous red fruits and some brambles carry through on the palate. This stuff is really singing right now. Tannins are firm but not tough. Finishes with a flourish. Really a lovely wine and was a divine pairing with a Berkshire pork chop. Drink now or Hold for the next 10+ years as this has the balance and grace to last.
