  • Light gold. Full and rich, slightly oily texture. White fruits, pear and honey dew melon plus a touch of tropical ones like pineapple. Good acidity. Complex and long. Very good. And remarkably unchanged from last bottle three years ago. Very tight healthy cork though.

  • Decanted and served.
We always have a lot of reservations in opening old rhone whites from across the valley as we feel that devout of freshness these wines are not of our style. But printed by the sommelier of Oinoscent, Athens we went all in. A good call as the wine is still on the fresh side ( it smelled fresh) and albeit it has evolution still its energetic and full of charm. Melon notes , soft honey and light citrus. Super solid 92-93

  • If my experience here is the norm, I’d say it’s time to drink up. This was opened alongside a 2015 Chave Hermitage Blanc and a 2018 Janasse Prestige Blanc (obviously incredible company), and while this didn’t fade in to the background, it was much better at pop.

Abundance of honeysuckle, melon, white pepper aromatically. This didn’t need to blow off any funk. The palate wasn’t as rich as the others, and was definitely more mineral driven, as well as lighter in profile. Seemed like clairette Blanche was dominant here. Herbal and cantaloupe-like note toward the finish with sleek finish. Not quite viscous but the acidity has definitely died down. Mid palate went hollow after a short time of being open. Still a nice wine at this point in its evolution, but if I had more, I’d consume soon.

  • A rich showing, some oxidized notes, very dry, layered, vertical; interesting indeed, quite classic for the genre.

  • A year and a half later even better than my previous bottle.
