Fully mature black berries and baking spice galore with lots of nuance unfolding over the course of the evening. Seemed slightly whole cluster dominant to me.

Significant bricking on the rim. On the nose and palate, the fruit is still fresh and pure, framed with that special Skyline spice. For me, Skyline vineyard produces some of the most balanced and precise wines in the Rhys lineup. Drinking beautifully; delicious!

PNP. Orange peel, cherry, sandalwood and Asian spice on the complex nose. Lithe palate, deeply flavored with cherry and raspberry yet silky and slightly grippy. Medium acid and shows some secondary flavors, but should hold for some time. Seems to have a good percentage of stems included, this wine is a very unique expression of California Pinot (and consistently my favorite domestic Pinot)

Opened, poured a glass and let it sit for a bit. Then followed the wine over about 4 hours. Garnet-burgundy color. A bit cloudy. Has a dark fruit and earthy nose, cherry and touch of mushroom. With a little more time and exposure to air, I find dried orange peel along with the cherry. Dark fruited on the palate. Has a woodsy note mixing in with the fruit. Delicious.

12.6% abv. Medium burgundy red, very aromatic. On the palate, raspberry, cranberry, cinnamon, and mint. Very deep and long. Precise, focused, and very lively - great tension. This wine is positively soaring at this moment, but appears to be in a nice, long and wonderfully rewarding drinking window. The best Rhys Pinot I've ever had and also the longest aged - I think there is a correlation!
