Excellent wine. So fun to cellar a wine from a lesser known region and get surprised in a good way. Taut nose of sour red fruit, forest pine, dried thyme, and earthy spice. Refined cherry fruit is balanced by clay-like earthy mid-palette followed by more red fruit like pomegranate, cranberry, and slight raspberry on the medium long finish that is slightly dry, but in a good way with food. The balance of fruit to earth is impressive underlying it's old world roots. This wine was tight upon opening, took a few hours to show itself, drinks great now with air, should hold for 5-10 years more and will probably gain more nuances too.

tight and thin at first, but after an hour the wine gained weight and complexity. red fruit, earthy, smooth tannins, great with pizza. best bottle to date.

Tasty, holding up well, good amount of cherry notes, but not just dried cherry - so still vibrant. Drank this with Korean fried chicken at Underbelly, Houston. Paired excellently. The 2 cohorts with me agreed that this is a very food friendly wine. It seemed like it could hold up a couple more years, but a brickish color variation has already begun setting in. I would get this again given the chance.

Excellent QPR. A mild sense of mint, maybe peppermint or juniper berries, with a blackberry sense, but not overly dominating. The perfume is of modest alcohol and the taste is smooth without being cloying. This is excellent right now, I've no sense that additional aging time is needed. It was also good and stayed good with time in the glass, so no strong need for decanting.

My first tasting note.
Colour is deep dark, leather, wood and spicy (just little).
