Great as it's ever been. Classic Campania. Tar, volcanic rock, gamy meat, pitch-black fruit. Tannins are maybe getting edgier than they were before but the fruit is still rich and ripe. And every time I see the label I sing the name to the tune of the Krusty the Klown "Canyonero" jingle.

I scored a case at like 6$/bottle about 18 months ago and I usually don't "track" bottles under ten bucks so this wasn't in the database. However, I drank the last bottle tonight and wow what an interesting wine! Keith is spot on with his review and the volcanic notes and low ABV of 12.5% make this a winner for that second bottle of the night when you want another glass but don't want to uncork an expensive bottle.

Maybe even better than my last bottle. It's richer and more palate-gripping than I remember but still has that scorched-earth personality. Almost like a Graves but with a southern heartiness.

Took a little while for the lovely manure aroma to blow off, but once it did this was about as good as $8 wine gets. Baking spice, red fruit, some secondary character, and good balance.

Ruby red; rich aromas and flavors of dark fruit and some bitterness; full bodied, smooth, dry; clean rich finish.
